How to Use Soy Wax Melts and Choose the Right Warmer
To use soy wax melts, place the amount recommended by your warmer’s manufacturer in its designated wax dish, then operate the warmer according to its instructions. Let the wax release its fragrance while you are present, and switch the warmer off when you’re finished.
For fragrance without an open flame, use a compatible electric wax warmer. A warmer heated by a tea light still involves a flame. Either way, the product and equipment instructions come first.
Start with the right equipment
Use a warmer explicitly designed for wax melts. Check whether it uses a bulb, a heating element, or a tea light, and read its directions before the first session.
A device that warms a whole jar candle may not be suitable for loose wax. Don’t place melts directly on a hot plate unless that is how the manufacturer specifically designed the device to work. Use the correct dish and other supplied parts.
Check the appliance for damage before use. If the dish is cracked, the cord is damaged, or parts are missing, stop and contact the manufacturer. A pleasant fragrance isn’t a reason to improvise around faulty equipment.
Find a suitable place for the warmer
Choose a stable surface with the clearances and heat protection required by the warmer’s instructions. Keep it where children and pets cannot reach the wax, tip the device, or catch its cord.
Avoid crowded arrangements that put decorations, fabric, or everyday clutter close to a hot appliance. Keep electrical equipment away from water and don’t place it where it can be easily knocked over.
Think about the whole session before switching on. If you will soon leave home, leave the fragrance for another time.
Add an appropriate portion
Melts vary in size, and warmer dishes vary in capacity. There is no universal rule that one cube, two cubes, or a whole package is correct for every setup.
Follow the warmer’s recommended amount and leave the capacity margin its instructions require. Adding more wax is not a substitute for choosing the right equipment. Don’t fill a dish to its rim or add water, essential oils, or other ingredients to the wax.
Our Quiet Time Soy Wax Melts are hand-poured in small batches and made with soy wax. The product directions call for an appropriate amount in an approved warmer and require following the warmer manufacturer’s instructions.
Let the fragrance develop without adjusting everything
Allow the equipment to work as designed. You don’t need to stir the wax or move the hot dish to check it. Notice whether the fragrance suits the space and your preference.
If you dislike the scent or anyone feels uncomfortable, turn the warmer off. Trying a smaller permitted portion on another occasion is a preference choice, not a guarantee that a fragrance will be suitable for everyone.
Finish the session carefully
Never leave the warmer unattended. Turn it off when you’re done and follow its unplugging and cooling instructions. Let the wax and dish cool before moving or storing them.
Keep the remaining package closed and labeled so it is easy to find for the next session. If you are switching scents, use the cleaning method approved for your particular warmer instead of forcing wax out with a sharp tool.
