Scented or Unscented Goat Milk Soap: Which Should You Choose?

Choose a scented goat milk soap if you enjoy fragrance and the ingredients suit you. Choose a bar with no added fragrance if you prefer to leave scent out of your washing routine. Read the individual product information either way.

At FRAN C FARMS, Naturally Unscented Goat Milk Soap is described as having no added fragrance. Our scented bars offer floral, fruity, fresh, and earthy options for everyday hand and body washing.

What does “unscented” tell me?

The word alone may not tell the whole story. Some cosmetics labeled unscented contain fragrance ingredients that mask other odors. Check the specific description and ingredient list. FDA fragrance information.

For our Naturally Unscented bar, the relevant product statement is “no added fragrance.” If you need to avoid a particular ingredient, ask for the current complete list. No added fragrance does not mean that every person will tolerate the product.

What if I have sensitive skin?

Fragrance preference and skin suitability are different questions. If you have a known allergy or a diagnosed skin condition, choose products with guidance from your clinician. Do not assume an essential oil is appropriate for you because it comes from a plant.

Our guide to goat milk soap for dry or sensitive skin covers the checks to make before choosing a bar. Stop using a product if it causes irritation.

How do I choose a scented bar?

Start with a scent family you already enjoy:

  • Floral: Lavender Goat Milk Soap has a soft floral lavender fragrance. Cherry Blossom offers an airy floral character.
  • Fruity: Black Raspberry Vanilla pairs juicy berry with warm vanilla. Cranberry Apple adds orange peel and warm spice to cranberry and apple.
  • Fresh: Lemongrass is scented with lemongrass essential oil and has a fresh, lemony description. Eucalyptus has a fresh eucalyptus aroma.
  • Earthy or woodsy: Cedarwood combines cedar character with bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli, amber, and benzoin notes. Patchouli has an earthy fragrance with warm spice.

Read the whole scent description before deciding. Two botanical names do not necessarily mean two similar fragrances. Fragrance notes also describe an impression; they do not establish a medical benefit.

Do I need different bars for different seasons?

Only if you want them. A fruit-and-spice fragrance can be a year-round favorite, and a floral bar can suit your routine in any month. Buy for your own preference rather than a calendar label.

For a shared bathroom, ask the people using the bar whether they want added fragrance. For a gift, find out what the recipient already likes and whether there are ingredients they avoid.

Start with one clear choice

If a fragrance is new to you, choose one bar before committing to a larger quantity. Keep its name handy so you can reorder it if you enjoy it.

Browse Goat Milk Soap Bars, choose scented or no added fragrance, and compare the individual listings. Once you have your bar, let it dry between washes.
